How to actually do it
- Open your dissertation module brief, handbook and marking criteria, then copy the sections covering the subject area, learning outcomes, word count, methods, ethics and approval requirements.

- Compare each recommendation against the copied module requirements and your actual time, access, ethics and method constraints, correcting any claim that the model made without evidence.
- Send the two checked questions and the evidence you found to your supervisor, asking which has the best scope and whether the wording needs approval or refinement.

- It cannot secure access to participants, restricted data, equipment or ethical approval.
- It can make a broad question sound precise while overlooking a hidden problem with definitions, evidence or scope.
