How to actually do it
- Open a chatbot such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and copy the prompt into the message box.
- Replace each bracketed slot with the facts of what happened, your responsibility, the likely impact and the relationship.
- Send the prompt and compare both drafts with what actually happened, removing any invented detail or claim about the other person's feelings.
- Read the remaining draft aloud and change words that do not sound like something you would normally say.
