How to actually do it
- Open your institution's guidance on acceptable AI use and note whether proofreading, rewriting or AI-generated suggestions are allowed for this assignment.
- Gather the essay brief, marking criteria, required academic level, citation style and any word-count rule.
- Paste the prompt and these requirements into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, then paste the complete essay without leaving out paragraphs or references.
- Ask the model to produce the edit table and clean revised copy specified in the prompt.
- Compare every proposed change with the original sentence and reject changes that alter your argument, evidence, personal voice or intended level of certainty.
