- Open the scan and check that every page is present, upright and readable before uploading it.

- It often reproduces the wording without reproducing the original page layout, spacing, stamps, signatures or complex tables exactly.
- It can silently change a digit, date or punctuation mark, so a long document still needs visual comparison with the scan.
- It cannot certify that the transcription is a faithful legal, financial or archival copy.
