How to actually do it
- Open the original email, message or task instructions from your manager and identify the exact sentence or decision you do not understand.
- Write down what you believe the instruction means, what remains unclear, and any deadline or dependency affected by the answer.
- Paste the prompt into an AI chat and replace each bracketed slot with your own context, removing any confidential information that is not needed.
- Compare both drafts with the original instruction and delete any claim, assumption or detail that the AI added.
- Choose the version that matches your normal tone, then confirm that it contains one specific question and gives your manager enough context to answer.
- Send it through the usual workplace channel and keep the original instruction available when your manager replies.
