How to actually do it
- Open the job advert and copy the specific requirement or responsibility for which you lack direct experience.
- Write down the gap in one sentence, then gather two or three real examples from work, study, volunteering, caring responsibilities, projects or hobbies that show relevant skills.
- Add any genuine steps you have taken to learn the missing skill, such as a course, project, supervised practice or independent study, without claiming competence you do not have.
- Paste the job details and your notes into a chatbot with the supplied prompt and ask it to draft the answer and follow-up questions.
- Compare the draft line by line with your CV and memory, delete invented or overstated claims, and replace generic reasons for wanting the role with your own reason.
